Fly Fishing and Fly Tying Info

The Blood midge

Here is the pattern for November 2009 through Febuary 2010, The Blood Midge.  A good all purpose midge pattern for selective trout during our cold fall and winter months. I like fishing them on a dead drift through riffles into pools and eddies. The midge pettern can be ties in different colors to match the local midges, another good color combo is black with white rib also known as a zebra midge.

This is an easy midge pattern used by a lot of people to catch  trout on waters accross the country.  The pattern can be tied in any color to

match your local hoppers found near your favorite fishing hole. Try tying it in bright and dark colors to see wich the fish prefer.
